Congratulations to Lt. Valna Wilson
AframGlobal Organization Inc., and The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s congratulate Lt. Valna Wilson of the Orange County Sheriff's Department on her recent Community Service award from the Orange County Black Chamber of Commerce. Lt. Wilson has worked in the Orange County Sheriff's Department for 23 years. She was applauded for her contributions to the Sheriff's department, to her community and to her family. She was promoted to the rank of Lt in 2001 becoming the first African-American woman in the 117 year history of the Orange County Sheriff's department to be promoted to that rank. In his introduction of Lt. Wilson, Sheriff Michael S. Carona applauded her work and service, while acknowledging that the Orange County Sheriff's department had waited too long to recognize and promote African-Americans to such leadership ranks. Lt. Wilson is presently the Court Operations Division Facility Commander for the Lamoreaux Justice Center. Shown here is Lt. Valna Yvette Wilson, and Ben Daouda Toure', Executive Director, AframGlobal Organization Inc.
