Who’s in your village? “Lifting as we Climb!” Beyoncé’s Coachella performance, bringing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) into full view of a broad audience, now moves forward to an even larger audience via her new Documentary. http://time.com/5574035/beyonce-homecoming-hbcu-history/
Now is the time...and we are reminded that “it takes a village.” Who’s in this village? “Lifting as we Climb!”
...All of us, and its time that we all come to know the importance of HBCUs. Now is the time to reconnect.
”Standing In The Gap.”
Among the 2019 Villager Awards are honorees whose journey - to -now included education and/or other relationships at one or more HBCU’s. They hail from historic institutions that have produced many, if not most of our nation’s leaders, our community leaders, our history-makers, our business owners, our professionals, our generations, etc.
We invite all HBCU Alumni, students, and supporters to make yourselves known as you stand in support of these award recipients. We invite other institutions in the Southern California Area to connect with the spirit and opportunities to collaborate with HBCUs.... and find new opportunities to connect in today’s world. HBCUs have spaces available for students while we watch larger mainstream institutions turning students away. ...Yes, there are opportunities for filling those spaces.
This year’s HBCU honorees include persons from #Texas Southern University, #Prairie View A and M University, #Philander Smith College, #Grambling University, #Howard University, #Johnson C. Smith University, #Cheney State University, #Dillard University, #Bennett College, etc.
