The Village Projects Salutes Mrs. Autrilla Scott-Making a Difference!

Mrs. Autrilla Scott is working once again to improve her community. She is drumming up support to turn a vacant lot located on the south side of East Hill street (one lot east of the corner of Martin Luther King), Long Beach, California, into a mini-park. An inaugural awards ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 5:30p.m. at the Japanest American National Museum in Los Angeles at 369 East 1st Street.
The award ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles at 369 E. 1st Street. Bank of America will present an awards check to Mrs. Scott at that ceremony.
Mrs. Scott is well known for her strong advocacy for improvements in her community. She says that it all is simply her way of helping others. Mrs. Scott was recently featured in the book "From Hope to Harlem" describing the young President Bill Clinton when he was just a child and her experiences while babysitting him. She is a published poet and has become a recognized poet laureate in the Long Beach Area.
