National Health Information Center
The National Health Information Center (NHIC) is a health information referral service. NHIC puts health professionals and consumers who have health questions in touch with those organizations that are best able to provide answers. Included among its core participants are three African-Americans i.e. Dr. Patricia Harvard-Hinchberger EdD, RN - Assistant Professor of Nursing, California State University, Dominguez Hills, California; Bishop Carolyn Tyler-Guidry, Presiding Prelate, 16th district of the Afican Methodist Episcopal Church and the second female to attain the rank of Bishop in this denomination; and Dr. Gloria Willingham PhD, RN - Associate Dean, School of Educational Leadership and Change, Fielding Graduate University, and Founder, The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s.

California State University, Dominguez Hills, School of Nursing, College of Health and Human Services hosted the first meeting of the Village of Mentors sponsored by Psi Eta Chapter, Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority Inc. Vanessa Jones, Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s Advisor
Vanessa Jones is a remarkable young lady having graduated from high school at the age of 15, having acquired two college degrees, and opened her own business, before she was 25. Yet she remains close to her community of origin and finds time to volunteer and to share her story with others, as well as to listen to theirs. The Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s is proud to have Vanessa as a member of its Board of Advisors, and a recipient of a Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s leadership award.
Autrilla Scott, Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s advisor
Autrilla Scott is no stranger to grassroots community efforts. One might say it has been her calling in life and has come natural to her. She has been the recipient of many awards, but she remains humble and true to her roots. Among her other notables Mrs. Scott was one of the persons who babysat President Bill Clinton when he was growing up in Hope,Arkansas. We are pleased that she is an advisor to the Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s
Dr. Charlease Stevenson, Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s
Dr. Charlease Stevenson is well known in and around Savannah, Georgia. Her warm spirit, calm demeanor and close connections with students and the surrounding community of Savannah State University, is commendable. She recently retired as a faculty member of The Fielding Graduate University, after earlier retirement as an Academic administrator at Savannah State University. Her story is one that can and will make a difference in the lives of so many first generation college students and we applaud her for agreeing to serve as one of the members of the Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s advisory board.
Rachel Plotkin Monda RN, Village Projects
Rachel Plotkin Monda RN is a real leader in the Long Beach, Community. Her role in community outreach at St. Mary's Medical Center has opened the door for her to expand her wonderful and caring heart so as to be increasingly a hub around which various community networks are formed. Rachel moves through grassroots community groups and faith-based groups. She connects them to health information, advocacy, and health care access in ways that are not often seen. She brings a special presence to everything that she does. Rachel is presently working on her EdD degree having earned a bachelor's and master's degree as well as a public health nursing certificate earlier. We are pleased that Rachel will be serving as a member of the Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s advisory board. She is a true advocate and connection for students enrolled in nursing at East LA College, and the community.

Richard Love, Publisher, Long Beach Times is a household word in the California African-American community. As one young man remarked: "If you want to know who to talk to ...see Mr. Love. Nnenna Ohalete RN, MSN, Phd(c) is a lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, College of Health and Human Services, Department of Nursing. Her goal is to become a full Professor. She in an active participant in professional nursing organizations, research, community service, and an advocate for her students. She expressed an interest in the Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s at our early stages of development and now we are pleased that she is a member of the Village P.r.o.j.e.c.t.s advisory board.
